Students training with Thames Valley Police will not be learning on an empty stomach after the force signed up Restaurants at Work to provide its catering services.
4 Dec. 2009, Epsom: Students training with Thames Valley Police will not be learning on an empty stomach after the force signed up Restaurants at Work to provide its catering services.
The leading independent contract caterers are now serving up as many as 2,500 meals a week at Thames Valley Police’s Sulhamstead Training Centre which is based within the grounds of a former stately home.
The centre near Reading has accommodation for around 160 police students, and is being served by eight catering staff from Restaurants at Work after the Epsom-based company took over a contract previously run by Zest Caterers.
Wyn Roberts, managing director of Restaurants at Work, said: “Thames Valley Police has recognised our strong commitment to using quality, fresh food to produce traditional wholesome menus, and also the personal service we can offer all our clients.
“We are really pleased with how the link-up has gone so far and we have already had some great feedback from the students at the training centre.”
Phillip Hinton-Smith, of Thames Valley Police, added: “Our Sulhamstead facility is the major training centre for all Thames Valley Police’s students and making sure they all have access to a high quality nutritional food is really important to us. We are happy to be working in partnership with Restaurants at Work who source and cook good food locally.”
