Myrtle Beach’s Sands Resorts Receives Special Recognition in the Hall of Heroes

National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and New Museum are Highlighted

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., Sept. 3 - The widely recognized Hall of Heroes now includes a tribute honoring National Law Enforcement Officers who have fallen in the line of duty.  The event was coordinated by Lee Rawcliffe, owner of Sands Resorts, in a dedication ceremony held on August 25, 2010.

Special attendance included Craig Floyd, Director of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC and Dan Morphet from the National Law Enforcement Officers Golf Classic in Myrtle Beach, SC.  In addition to the dedication, a special donation was presented by Michael Warren from DynCorp International as part of their title sponsorship with National Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial Golf Classic.  This tournament donation will support a new Museum being built in Washington, DC which recognizes more than 18,000 officers who have died within the line of action.

The Hall of Heroes is proud to recognize Law Enforcement along with Firefighters and all branches of Military Service.  “Our purpose is to show continuous support for Americans who protect our country,” said Lee Rawcliffe. “Our plans include more future recognitions to these courageous Americans.”  In 2009, Sands Resorts dedicated the Hall of Heroes as a tribute to American Heroes.  Since then, there have been ongoing projects to recognize both Wounded Warriors and VFWs.
