Molinaro Koger arranges re-financing deal for Le Mélézin in Courchevel 1850, France

Hotel real estate agent, Molinaro Koger, has arranged a re-financing deal of €20 million with the Europe Arab Bank plc for Le Mélézin in Courchevel 1850, in the French Alps on behalf of existing owner, Canyon Equity.  In 2006, Molinaro Koger handled the financing for the original deal on behalf of Canyon Equity, securing financing from Bear Stearns. 

“First class brand management, the finest facilities, an excellent location and a strong historical financial performance clearly make Le Mélézin a solid financing opportunity,” says Ed Blum, managing director capital markets, Molinaro Koger.

“The property has consistently realised occupancy levels in the mid 90 per cent range, with ADRs currently exceeding €1000.”

The luxury resort, which was designed by Ed Tuttle, continues to be managed by Amanresorts.  The ski village of Courchevel 1850 is situated in the heart of Les Trois Vallées, home to eight internationally renowned and several smaller ski resorts. 

Based in Larkspur, California, the Canyon Group of Companies specialises in global acquisitions and the development of luxury boutique hotels and resorts in the US, Europe and Asia.  Since it formed in 2005, the company has acquired a portfolio with a combined value exceeding $350 million, including Amagani Resort, Wyoming; Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort in Fiji;  Amagiri Resort, Utah; and Papagayo Peninsula, Costa Rica.
