Macdonald Hotels Welcomes New Employees to its Team
EDINBURGH, June 15, 2012-
Macdonald Hotels has announced several personnel changes, including the arrival of
several new employees to the company and the departure of some existing staff members.
Firstly, Fiona Raymen has made the decision to take on a much larger role in Edinburgh
heading up a call centre operation for Johnstone Press. Fiona brought structure and
measurement to CRO and Macdonald Hotels has wished her every success in her new role. Joan
Adams, who has a background working for Thomas Cook, started on 11 June to continue the
good work that Fiona started.
On 15 June, Pamela Robertson left the group to venture to new pastures, marketing the
hire of formal wear. Pamela was a great asset to the marketing team over the last three
years. Macdonald Hotels has thanked her for her contribution, wishing her all the very
best in her new role.
To replace Pamela, the hotel group announced the appointment of Vanessa Kennedy, who
joined the team on 11 June after having spent the last year at VisitScotland working as
the Brand Partnership Manager. Previous to that, Vanessa worked 11 years at AVC Creative
marketing agency in Aberdeen.
Macdonald hotels also announced the replacement of Alison Conroy in the position of
Corporate Marketing Manager. Lindsay Crozier is set to start on Monday 2 July, having
spent the last 14 months working in a sales role for FLOW hospitality, offering training
to the hospitality industry. She previously held marketing roles with House of Fraser and
Montpellier’s Group. Lindsay will take ownership of the Club loyalty scheme particularly
to drive greater efficiencies and costs savings as well as supporting the company’s
corporate and conference marketing plan.
It has also been agreed that Esther Conn will focus her substantial expertise and
energies in growing and developing Macdonald Hotels’ key corporate and conference accounts
as well as travel trade. With Esther moving into this revised role as Head of Agency Sales
and Travel Trade, the company is currently recruiting for Head of Sales to drive the
overall sales strategy for the business as well as to take a much more active role in
managing and developing the unit based and central sales teams. There has already been a
lot of interest in this new role and Macdonald Hotels hopes to make an appointment in the
coming weeks.
