Legacy Hotels appoints new regional sales

Henley-in-Arden, 29 January 2010 - A Hampshire woman who has enjoyed more than 30 years in the sales industry has been appointed into a new role created by Legacy Hotels and Resorts.

Alice Ghiloni, from Lymington in the New Forest, has taken up the role of Regional Sales Manager which sees her responsible for generating new corporate and conference business for The Legacy Botleigh Grange Hotel in Southampton, The Legacy Rose and Crown in Salisbury and The Legacy Three Swans Hotel in Hungerford.

Alice joins Legacy Hotels having held a similar position with Forestdale Hotels for four years, and has also enjoyed working for a direct-marketing company in Yorkshire and an advertising agency in Dubai during her career.

“This is a new role within Legacy Hotels and I’m really looking forward to getting on with the job,” she said.

“I was happily with Forestdale for a long time but reached the point where I needed a new challenge and this certainly fits the bill.

“I’ve been involved in the hotel and sales industry for over 30 years and still love it – I always have done. I really enjoy getting out and about meeting people. I thrive on variety as I hate being stuck in an office behind a desk all day.”

Alice will work closely with the sales team already based at The Legacy Botleigh Grange Hotel in Hedge End and is confident better times are just around the corner for the UK hotel industry.

She added: “I can definitely see there being an upturn this year and by the third quarter of 2010 I firmly believe we will be over the worst of it.

“Business has changed a lot during my career, with the reliance on the internet and email meaning it’s vital to respond quickly and accurately to your customers’ requirements to avoid missing out on opportunities.

“Everyone is out there looking for new business so you have to keep focused and show great drive and determination, with the companies offering the best value for money and excellent service always being the ones to survive and grow.”
