Legacy Hotels and Resorts has added another hotel to its growing portfolio

Legacy Hotels and Resorts has added another hotel to its growing portfolio.

21 September 2009, Henley-in-Arden - Legacy Hotels and Resorts has added another hotel to its growing portfolio.

The company, based in Warwickshire, has signed a three-year management contract to run the Three Swans Hotel, in Hungerford, Berkshire.

The Three Swans is the 21st hotel in the Legacy group and the 13th run under a full management contact.

Andy Townsend, chief executive officer of Legacy Hotels and Resorts, said the new deal took the group past the 1,400 bed-mark for the first time.

He said: “The Three Swans is a lovely, three star hotel and further widens the geographical spread of Legacy Hotels and Resorts.

“It has been run by brothers Steve and John Hodges, but they were keen to take it to the next level and we intend to do just that.

“They have invested in the hotel with an additional 10 new guestrooms since they acquired the property to ensure its three star status and we will continue to build on its reputation as well as adding the benefits of being part of the Legacy group.”

The Legacy Three Swans Hotel, which is in the High Street of the Berkshire market town, has 25 en-suite rooms, a 60 seat bistro restaurant and a meeting and banqueting room for 65 delegates.

Townsend added: “The Legacy Three Swans is just off the M4 and 15 minutes from Newbury Racecourse, so is very well placed both for the business and leisure markets.”

Legacy, which was founded in 2005, also manages the four-star Legacy Rose and Crown in nearby Salisbury.
