Butterfly Hotels to launch Express by Holiday Inn, Banbury

Butterfly Hotels announces that it is to manage the 120-room Express by Holiday Inn, Banbury, just off junction 11 of the M40 in Oxfordshire.  The new-build property, which is owned by Lewis Hotels Ltd, is due to launch in June.

Once open, it will bring Butterfly Hotels’ portfolio to a total of eight properties in East Anglia and the Midlands, under the Express by Holiday Inn, Ramada and Days Hotel brands.

“With its central position and direct access to the M40, Banbury is an excellent location, so we are delighted to have secured this much sought after site,” says Clive Nicholls, operations director, Butterfly Hotels.

“Positioned at the upper end of the budget market, we believe the hotel will become a great asset to this thriving town, attracting business and leisure guests travelling along the motorway, as well as being an ideal central location for national companies to hold their meetings.  It has also been designed to an extremely high specification and great consideration has been given to ensuring that it is energy efficient.”

The Express by Holiday Banbury is located on Stroud Park, just off the M40, within sight of junction 11.  It will have a contemporary and stylish interior with 120 bedrooms on four floors, superior bathroom fittings, an all-day coffee shop, a bar, four meeting rooms, wireless internet connection and free on-site parking.  Bedrooms will have telephone, TV with digital channels, trouser press, hairdryer and hospitality tray.  Guests will be able to dine in either of two restaurants on the same site, a Toby Restaurant and Frankie and Benny’s.  Rates will be from £49.95.

The launch of the Express by Holiday Inn Banbury is part of the longterm strategy announced by Butterfly Hotels in 2006 to develop at least ten properties under recognisable, high-profile brands in the midlands and south east England by 2009.
