Tim Hortons announces 500th U.S. location

DETROIT, MI, Dec. 5, 2008 - Tim Hortons announced today the opening of its 500th store in the United States. The store, located at the Millender Center in downtown Detroit, Michigan, will open on December 15th, 2008. The Franchisees are former NBA star, Derrick Coleman, and his business partner, Walter Bender.

“We are proud to reach this landmark for Tim Hortons and the City of Detroit,” says David Clanachan, Chief Operations Officer, U.S. & International, Tim Hortons. “The opening of our 500th store marks an important stage in our growth as we continue to develop our brand presence in the United States.”

The Millender Center location will feature the full Tim Hortons menu including Tim Hortons premium blend coffee, full hot and cold beverage lineup, always fresh baked goods, home-style lunches and the popular Breakfast Sandwich. At the heart of the city, Tim Hortons is thrilled to serve the many people and businesses of downtown Detroit.

The official Grand Opening Celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on December 18 at 11:00 a.m. The event will be attended by Tim Hortons senior executives and distinguished guests from the Detroit community.
