Deloitte Releases U.S. Hospitality Performance Review
NEW YORK, Jan. 26 -
What: “Hospitality Vision: U.S. Performance Review”
When: Available immediately
Where: http://www.deloitte.com/us/HospitalityVision
Details: The global tourism industry saw a significant slowdown in
most world regions in 2008—- particularly in the final
quarter—- as the economic meltdown trickled through and
impacted the number of tourists and business travelers
making trips and staying in hotels.
While 2009 is expected to be a tough year for global tourism
and business travel, the U.S. lodging sector is likely to
return to growth in 2010. Despite the current economic
challenges, the U.S. lodging industry is likely to continue
to benefit longer term from the rising incomes being
experienced in much of the developing world. Planning today
for the upcoming changes in technology, demographics and
societal concerns that will impact the lodging industry will
help companies thrive in the years ahead.
Deloitte’s Tourism, Hospitality & Leisure leaders are
available for additional commentary about 2008 U.S.
hospitality performance and the outlook for the industry in
2009.
