Following a 12 month GBP0.5m conversion, Cheltenham’s Strozzi Palace
Apart-Hotel fuses Italian style with a chic, high-end design specification.
The historic listed building, dating from 1894, was originally modelled on
the Strozzi Palace in Florence.

At the junction of Clarence Street, just moments from Cheltenham’s
sophisticated Promenade, Strozzi Palace blends luxurious accommodation with a
relaxed, home-from-home experience. Each of the six double occupancy suites
is individually designed and exquisitely finished and furnished. Highlights
include Super King size beds, quality cotton linen, Italianate fireplaces,
stylish bathrooms and wet rooms, monsoon rain showers, fully equipped
kitchen/dining areas, wood floors, Sony Bravia flat screen TVs and free
Wi-Fi. Two suites offer private balconies, whilst another boasts a
breathtaking ‘sky view’ ceiling atrium with electronic blinds.

Tracey Pym, Operations Manager explains, “Today’s guests want flexibility
and our Apart-Hotel suite concept is the future. We’ve worked hard to do this
jewel of a building justice. Whether you’re visiting Cheltenham for a break,
attending a racing meeting or here on business, Strozzi Palace Apart-Hotel
delivers. We offer everything you could need, in the perfect town centre
location just seconds from the Promenade - typically for less than the price
of a decent hotel room. We genuinely believe guests will find we’re
Cheltenham’s finest, best value accommodation.”

Strozzi Palace, Cheltenham: building history

Originally modelled on the Strozzi Palace in Florence, the three storey,
red-brick and stone Grade II listed building boasts a detailed
renaissance-style façade with arches and ornate cornice.

Constructed in 1894 and extended in 1900, the site provided Cheltenham’s
first electricity supply and subsequently power for the trams of Cheltenham’s
Light Railway Company. Following various roles spanning both World Wars the
building was finally vacated in 1959 - remaining unused for 49 years until
plans to create the Strozzi Palace Apart-Hotel Suites were finalised in
December 2007.
