Governor’s Proposal to Increase the Beer Tax by 118 Percent Would Threaten Jobs, New York’s Beer Industry

  WHAT:  Press conference in opposition to the proposal to double the
      excise tax on beer.

  WHY:  The proposal to increase the state’s beer tax by 118 percent would
      lead to job losses in the brewing and wholesaling industries,
      increase consumer costs and threaten the viability of New York’s
      beer industry at a time when the state is losing jobs and
      individuals are struggling to make ends meet.
