Will writing (expert) articles going to help someone to get a job?

Hospitality Writers, my website, allows professionals to submit articles to share their expertise, knowledge and/or experience. The question is, will it help them get a job?

I hope some human resource managers, owners or managers are here on the forum that could give me their opinions - please do share.

Thank you!

There are different sides to this discussion.  Firstly writing articles as an actual job i.e. being paid to write the articles, and secondly writing articles in order to improve your own brand so that when applying for jobs a google search of your name comes up with some interesting articles.

Sticking with the second option - I would certainly agree that writing articles can help an individuals brand.  It shows commitment and a strong interest to the industry, an active and opinionated individual, entrepreneurial and a go-getter.

So..  yes, articles will help you get a job!

We accept articles on our website if you’re interested in writing one for us - must be travel/event focused - an example would be http://hotel-desk.net/news/choosing-conference-location/

Anything that helps one get exposure can potentially help them get a job or a better job.

@ Natasha, I am writing 2 blogs:

“The Catering Freelance” http://thecateringfreelance.blogspot.com/ and

“A life in Hospitality” http://saltandpepperevents.blogspot.com/

Let me know if there is anything that might be of interest.
