British Columbia Hotel Association (BCHA)

Since 1917, the British Columbia Hotel Association has been the advocate and spokesperson for the interests of the Hotel Industry throughout British Columbia.

The BCHA has 580 hotel members and nearly 200 associate members, representing an industry with revenue in excess of $3.2 billion, 78,000 rooms and more than 58,000 employees. We are a significant component of BC's $13.8 billion tourism trade and have members in almost every community throughout BC giving us a strong voice at all levels of government. Our members have invested heavily into their communities and as a result, are integral to steering the future development of the province and territory.

With headquarters in Vancouver, the BCHA is a strong industry organization of approximately 600 hotel members and 200 associate members dedicated to improving and increasing the tourism and hospitality industry within British Columbia.

Through membership in the BCHA you are represented in many industry associations.

Membership in the BCHA ensures representation on a national level as well as through a provincial board of directors. Acknowledged as the champion of hotel related issues, the BCHA pursues matters of taxation, tourism, marketing, corporate relations, labour and consumer services.
Our Mission Statement

The purpose of our association is to enhance the financial viability of our members in the accommodation and hospitality industry through initiatives in government relations, marketing, education, training, technology, and the promotion of excellence, professionalism and social responsibility.
BCHA Objectives

1. To promote the consideration and discussion of questions affecting the hotel trade and to promote matters of interest to members and other Hotel Associations.
2. To encourage and promote the development of tourist traffic and the building and maintaining of long-term marketing strategies.
3. To originate and recommend improvements in the law and to support or oppose alterations therein and to effect improvements in administration, and or the purposes aforesaid to petition the Legislative Assembly and take such other steps and proceedings as may be deemed expedient.
4. To give Legislative and other public bodies facilities for conferring with and ascertaining the view of persons engaged in the hotel trade regarding matters of trade.
5. To represent the members of the Association or any group thereof in all matters pertaining to the hotel industry.
6. To promote a fraternal feeling and cordial business relationship among it's members.
7. Generally, to do all such acts and things as shall be for the benefit of its members and the hotel industry.
